Reception and In Year Admissions
All Reception aged children start school in September in line with Hertfordshire County Council admissions arrangements. Hertfordshire County Council manages all applications for Reception and In-Year admission enquiries for our school. Please contact us for details or visit www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/admissions. (Acceptance into our early years class (nursery) does not guarantee a Reception place).
We are the Church school associated with Great St. Mary's in Sawbridgeworth and children who reside in the parish of Great St. Mary’s, Sawbridgeworth and the nearby town of Bishops Stortford usually make up our school roll. Children residing in neighbouring Essex and within reasonable distance of the school are very welcome to apply. Our policy on admissions follows the admission criteria outlined by Hertfordshire County Council.
The regulations for entry to schools, where the Admissions Authority is the Local Authority (LA) are published annually. The LA publishes a composite admissions prospectus each year, which gives information about how parents can apply for a place in the school of their choice. Parents have a right to express a preference for the school of their choice and they should do so on the application form. Expressing a preference does not, in itself, guarantee a place at this school.
For updated information on admissions (including appeals), please visit the official County Council website: or phone Hertfordshire County Council customer helpline on 0300 123 4043
Details of all Hertfordshire County Council’s and Own Admitting Authority schools arrangements are available on the HCC website.
